I've had way too much fun in Hong Kong and now I feel so absolutely bored back in Toronto...
Its like everything is gray and colorless, the food has no taste anymore, and the clouds are so depressing and undynamic!
I no longer find anything interesting nor exciting here, and I feel so unwilling to go out because it feel like everything is so .. "dead", tamed, and boring! >_<

All I can think about is MongKok and TsimSaiTsui/etc where it is so lively (everybody going about/shopping/dating), people trying to sell you stuff, and people buying stuff, handing you flyers/ads, and loud ppl talking about stuff whose conversations are so hard not to overhear!! (I even used to hate those damn ppl - b/c all they talk about is behind other ppl's backs and gossip, but now I actually miss it!)

And China is so lively, crazy, and stuff is so cheap there too >< (and it was only a station away)! Speaking of the subway, I miss the Octopus card and how efficient, on time, clean, and convenient the subway was (compared to the dreadful TTC, sigh).

I really miss all the variety in HK (food, clothes, electronics, everything!), there were so many stores, all clustered together, and all selling different items/styles! Even prices were varied! It was so colorful and alive to see such variety.

Sigh... now I'm so sad. I look at everything... and everything is franchised and monopolized.. there's no creativity and no variety... the menus barely change here (bc competition here is not as severe).
I no longer see the elderly, outside, gathering, enjoying the fresh air and playing cards with their elderly friends ... happy and active... ;( - it feels so nice to see them enjoying their carefree "muan lin" (elderly yrs).

There are no night markets/shops to roam around here in Toronto (unless you want to go sing K/bars/clubs) And so few people here selling specialty merchandises for hobbies/collections (ie. dollism dolls, figurines, collectables, cosplay, etc), even though I am not into stuff like that I appreciate their existence.. (There are whole floors of shops dedicated to stuff like this in HK! So interesting to look at... v_v )

Why cant Torontoians be more creative? Be less monopolized by franchises and more lively??


And on an unrelated note...
T&T was purchased by Loblaws
More monopoly... sigh. (I wonder what horrible things they'll do to it. Sigh...)
